Let’s take a look inside a gorgeous home.
Klay and Katie are two of our favorite shoppers at LJ, and better yet, they built this gorgeous home in our hometown which just makes us so happy!
We met Katie first. In fact, Janet met her way back on opening day in 2015 – she was one of the happiest shoppers of the day as she went home with a trailer load of finds. We met Klay later that day when he drew the lucky straw to come pick it all up! Haha! That was the start of our friendship, and ever since that day, both of them have been huge supporters for LJ and that means the world to all of us. So when this new construction project started, being a part of their design team was so much fun and we LOVE how it turned out!
Katie has quite the design eye of her own, so working with her on colors, textures, layout, and anything else was so rewarding. When talking cabinetry, we went with several different colors in coordinating shades. All with a matte finish for that soft, buttery look that you just want to touch. The kitchen has this moody feel with Urban Bronze on the main cabinetry and island, then River Rock on the bar. And to top things off, Katie found this stunning zinc top for the island. We are drooling. The laundry room is just this soft, happy place with Mourning Dove cabinetry and the natural wood floating shelves.
We love buying for and staging our studio – it’s one of the most fun jobs at LJ. Seeing our finds go home with our customers is happiness, and getting to see them installed in such a striking space is even better! Katie had been stock-piling her LJ finds for months – before and during the building process! We are pretty sure unpacking day was like Christmas morning! The pendants above the island give us all the heart eyes, as well as the cute wicker basket pendants above the table, and to finish it off with the sconces above the coffee bar and the laundry room! The arched pantry doors – one of LJ Build’s projects – turned out AMAZING and we love the character they bring. The island stools just beg you to sit and hang out a while.
While we do not stock pile appliances at LJ, we have to mention them too – can we say BEAUTIFUL?! The matte white with the champagne bronze hardware just makes a statement, not to mention the play on metals from the range hood just finishes it all so well. A huge lesson to learn from this project is to not be afraid to highlight your appliances. They can be more than a necessity! Why not make them a gorgeous center-point, just because you can.
Okay, we will stop talking. But we might not stop drooling over everything! Klay and Katie – we love your home so much and are super happy to have been a part of this project with you. Here’s to making memories in this pretty place you call home!
