Summer Fiesta Dinner.

The Louisa Jane team gifted Janet, Darrel, and Brenda with a dinner last Christmas. It was a blast.

To be honest, Danielle, Brenda H., and Rueben, were the stars of the show. They came up with the entire menu and ambiance, and the end result was amazing. The style was Mexican, but with a fancy spin of course.

The food started off with salsa, creamy guacamole, spicy chorizo blanco queso, with HOMEMADE chips. Yep, you heard that right. The next course held fried poblano pepper boats with coleslaw, followed by chicken in a red pepper sauce on a bed of rice with corn-on-the-cob on the side. For dessert, the meal was wrapped up with deconstructed fried ice cream, and Mexican vanilla cold brew.

Danielle, Brenda H, and Rueben styled the table outside in the yard. The table was plywood low to the ground with leather cushions, blankets, and pillows to sit on around it. Greenery, Mexican vibes, clay pots, and candlesticks set the stage, along with some amazing dishes. The entire setting held a wonderful Mexican color palette – it looked truly beautiful.

When Karl & Janet, Darrel & Brenda, and their friends arrived, they had just enough time to sit down and enjoy the table before the rain hit. Of course, right? It’s summer! The guests were moved to the porch and enjoyed an extra-Mexican feel when they ate on their laps. But the laughter was abundant, the food amazing, and the night definitely a memorable one. Thanks Danielle, Brenda H, and Rueben for all your hard work. We are so glad our beloved leaders enjoyed the evening.
